In northern I Corps, the terrain and the weather dominated everything.  There was the narrow, flat, sandy coastal plain and, then, there was the rest of I Corps--all mountains!  Take a look at the photos of A113 coming into Bato (upper right, above) --don't let anyone tell you that Vietnam was flat!

The aerial view of the C Team compound, above, looking west, clearly shows the coastal plain, and where the mountains began.  From there, the mountains don't stop until China, or maybe, Saudi Arabia, I think!

In spite of weather, terrain and Mr. Nguyen, we did find time for Christmas.  Do you like our Mike Force Christmas Tree (below, right)?  And that's Santa on the C-Team water tower!  You should have been there when we celebrated New Year's!  We started with New Years in Moscow, and kept going until it was New Years in Sydney, many hours later!
